Sasaki: Practice of Collaboration
Sasaki, an interdisciplinary global planning and design practice, approached BMD to identify and refocus the core essence of their firm to lead a bolder, more ambitious organization.
BMD designed a collaborative process of research and dialogue, engaging the practice’s leaders to create a new brand positioning and key messaging that could unite the diverse disciplines and take them into the future.
Sasaki’s new brand platform emphasizes the purpose of shaping a better-built environment and the collective ability of a diverse, civically engaged group of thought leaders.
BMD reinforced the optimism and collaborative values of the brand platform with a new visual identity. We arrived at a wordmark generated from four core geometric shapes and multiple colors to create a vibrant set of logo variations as well as a full typography set to support the logo. These shapes can be used to form patterns, graphic elements and iconography.
The identity is expressive in both digital and physical spaces.
A word mark generated from four core geometric shapes shifts in colors to create vibrant logo variations.
BMD reinforced this optimistic, collaborative message in Sasaki’s new visual identity. These shapes are then used to form patterns, visual language elements, and a custom alphabet. The resulting identity was implemented across physical and digital points.
Sasaki’s new branding and messaging emphasizes the purpose of shaping a better-built environment and the collective ability of a diverse, civically engaged group of thought leaders.
