MetLife Stadium is a major NFL facility housing two New York archrivals: the sleekly modern New York Jets and the traditional New York Giants.
The stadium design could have no compromise, as the facility needed to work 100% for both teams. Collaborating with top designers including David Rockwell, we created a flexible system to transform the physical space from Jets green to Giants blue and back again, creating two distinct “home field” environments.
BMD approached this massive project from a fresh perspective, recognizing live football as a cultural experience. For many Americans, football is not just a game; it’s a way of life and a visceral spectacle. For the fans, we created an innovative and unified “street to seat” experience, choreographing their course from turnstile to final whistle by designing and enhancing physical and programmatic elements and environmental graphics.
We also invented real estate that created significant new revenue streams for the stadium owners, including four attention-grabbing Partner corner environments, where fans can engage in compelling immersive brand experiences.
