American Accounting Association: Repositioning the thought leaders in accounting

The American Accounting Association (AAA) is the premier community of accountants in academia. Collectively, they shape the future of accounting through teaching, research, and a powerful network.

BMD was tasked with crystallizing the visual expression of the AAA, taking into account its various sections and regions. The result is a unified, strong brand ensures visibility and credibility, positioning the organization as a thought leader in the field.

BMD continues to work with the AAA to roll out its identity across various communications pieces. These include materials to support annual meetings and leadership retreats, websites, and logo systems for the Centers for Advanced Accounting and to celebrate its centennial.

The icon is the combination of three important elements that represent the AAA; the sphere which embodies the global community of the American Accounting Association, the shield which is an iconic symbol of excellence in academia, and the three A’s, signifying not only the acronym, but also collaboration and coming together as a community.

BMD worked with AAA to develop a special campaign to generate participation in conversations around the future of accounting, and the association.
