BMD wins a Cannes Lion for Sonos

Bruce Mau Design has been awarded a Bronze Lion in Design at the 62nd Cannes International Festival of Creativity. 

Announced on June 24th, BMD was among the top creative agencies in the world on the Design shortlist. Representing one of two Canadian bronze awards, Sonos was recognized by the jury as "simple" but "brilliant".  Read full coverage of the festival at Marketing Magazine

Sonos is a wireless hi-fi system that redefines the listening experience for the digital age. In close collaboration with Sonos, BMD developed three primary tools for the new identity - the "amplified graphic", the SONOSONOSONOS wordmark, and the colour gradient.  We continue to work with Sonos on all brand touch points and evolve the identity globally, including the New York Metro subway wrap, large-scale window displays on Broadway Ave, an experience dome in La Defense, Paris,  and panelling in the Amsterdam Arena.

The Sonos work has been featured on Fast Co., The Verge, Brand New, Branding Magazine, Gizmodo, Business Insider, Quartz, AdWeek, Design Taxi, Creative Bloq and others. In two days, it garnered over 50,000 mentions on Twitter, 22,000 views of the project on our website and over 10,000 likes across various media.
