Senior Account Manager

Role: To build and strengthen client relationships, managing a variety of projects from pitching through to execution, delivering projects on time and on budget, and fostering a transparent, honest and positive team environment.

  • A liberal arts degree or a degree in a relevant field
  • Multifaceted background with 5-7 years direct account management experience within a creative environment
  • Strong design sense and an awareness of design processes and concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience interacting with clients including senior level executives
  • Experience in branding and communications a must
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior account team members
  • Experience identifying and landing organic growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resourcing
  • Demonstrated ability to understand project operations and work flow
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to assign tasks, identify strengths and weaknesses, and support team members
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize independently
  • High attention to detail and organization



In this role, the Senior Account Manager will…

  • Develop, manage, and track a wide array of multi-faceted creative projects as a member of a design team from initial pitching through to completion
  • Conduct research, write proposals, develop pitch presentations, identify opportunities for organic growth and project extension, and overall manage new business development opportunities under the guidance of the team leads
  • Work collaboratively with team leads in project setup to identify team members, define roles, create timelines and budgets, and write design briefs
  • Represent BMD as the primary client contact and proactively bring forward ideas and solutions to enhance the client’s business, the client relationship, and the work
  • Create client-ready presentations with minimal supervision and assist the team in presenting to the client
  • Manage internal resources to ensure each project has the right staffing complement, determine any freelance requirements and work with HR to source candidates
  • Manage the financial health of projects and clients.  Track progress, hours, and schedules against the agreed project timeline and budget, and manage all client invoicing for fees and billable disbursements, working with Finance to ensure all accounts are kept reconciled and in good standing
  • Forecast revenue recognition in line with generally accepted accounting principles.  Evaluate and revise revenue forecast on a weekly basis to account for schedule shifts and scope changes.
  • Work with external vendors and be diligent to associated time and cost restraints
  • Liaise with support staff to book meetings and travel
